FAQ.
PIERCING.
How long before I can change my piercing?
You can usually change your piercing after 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the type and healing. Changing to a shorter bar in time promotes healing, prevents irritation and reduces the risk of catching on clothing. Find out why this is important and how to do it safely here.
How do I know if my piercing is infected?
You’ll know your piercing is infected if you notice symptoms such as redness, swelling, pain, pus, or a bad odor. Sometimes the area around the piercing can also feel warm to the touch. If you have these symptoms, it’s important to clean your piercing properly and see a doctor for treatment. For more information on how to recognize an infection and what to do, check out our Piercing Infections page .
What should I use to clean my piercing?
Clean your piercing with saline solution or a mild, unscented antibacterial soap. Use a clean cotton swab or gauze to gently clean. Avoid alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and other irritants that can disrupt healing.
How long does it take for my piercing hole to close?
The time it takes for your piercing hole to close depends on the location and how long you’ve had the piercing. Some piercings can start to close after a few months, while others, like earlobe piercings, can stay open much longer, even after years. In general, the longer you’ve had the piercing, the longer it will take for it to close.
My piercing fell out, what should I do?
If your piercing has fallen out, try to put it back in right away. If that doesn't work and you've lost or misplaced the jewelry, I recommend temporarily putting an earring or something else in the hole to prevent it from closing up. Then make an appointment as soon as possible to have the piercing reinserted. Be quick about this, because piercings can sometimes close up in just a few minutes/seconds.
What if I have an allergy to certain materials?
We only use high-quality jewelry made from titanium, surgical steel, and other hypoallergenic materials. Please let us know your allergies in advance so we can choose a suitable piece of jewelry for you.
